Fager Sebastian is a good choice if you would describe your horse as the following;- Young or unbalanced.
- Sensitive to pressure over the tongue.
- Have difficulty relaxing with braces.
Sweet ore suits the picky horse as it gives off a sweet taste that makes the young or unbalanced horse seek contact with the hand.
The mouthpiece is angled forward over the tongue. This makes a big difference compared to a bit that has the tongue freedom angled upwards. This design also gives the bridle more freedom and removes the risk of pinching between the bridle and the bar bit.
When the chain receives at rein contact, Sebastian's arch/tongue freedom shifts over and applies pressure to the tongue and lifts the pressure off the lanes.
This is because the lanyards should not have such a large load as is given when the chain presses the bit down against the lanyards and the tongue is left completely free. The chain is therefore important to distribute the pressure evenly between the mouth, neck and chin.
An upward gate greatly increases pressure on the hooves, which can create wounds and cause pain to a sensitive horse.
