Sprenger's hackamore has a softly lined noseband and the chinstrap is made of leather with the possibility of adjusting the size. Hackamore is the most common bitless alternative used if the horse, for example, has injuries in the mouth that prevent regular bridling.
A hackamore is a sharp bridle that works by applying pressure to the horse's sensitive neck, bridge of nose and jaw.
Hackamores should therefore only be used by experienced riders.
