The Sprenger Pelham MAX-Control is a three-piece bit, which at first glance is difficult to distinguish from other three-piece bits with loose bit rings.

However, it is a correction or training bit that locks at a certain angle, thus becoming a straight bit. The bit sits very well in the mouth when the horse is working well. When the horse resists the rider's hand, a more rigid effect occurs. The pelham bit provides additional leverage on the horse's neck. By using a cheek chain, pressure is applied to the lower jaw.

Pelham bit can be seen as a combination of bridle and bridle bit. Pelham bit can be used with one delta or with two reins.
