Sprenger Babypelham is a pelham bit with short shanks. The Sprenger pelham gives more control over a strong or powerful horse. The leverage on the bit can be varied by how the rein is attached to the bit, most often it is used with a delta or with two reins.

The cheek chain should be tightened so that the bar is at a 45 degree angle to the corner of the mouth to avoid too much leverage. Provides precise and effective reining assistance because the bit's action is on the larynx, tongue and lower jaw simultaneously.
