The mouthpiece is made from flexible, food-grade PU, which provides a warmer feel in the mouth even at lower temperatures. Inside the mouthpiece is a hidden metal core for added security without compromising flexibility. The anatomically shaped mouthpiece follows the horse's natural mouth line and lies evenly over the tongue and larynx, while a slight tongue relief reduces pressure. The Swales Baby Pelham is a shorter version of the Swales design, which does not affect the noseband, but provides a faster and more lift-focused reaction through its shorter leverage path.

Size guide

If you already have a bit that fits your horse well, you can use it as a reference when choosing a size.

If not, measure the width of the horse's mouth by placing a mouth gauge or soft string in the mouth where the bit will be. Mark the ends and measure the distance. The bit should be wide enough for the rings to rest just outside the corners of the mouth.
