Beris Pelham Butterfly soft, long shank

The butterfly mouthpiece provides the correct anatomical shape in combination with a wider surface against the tongue, giving the sensitive muscle an optimal space with a very gentle influence. Horses show their well-being by relaxing the jaw and sucking on the bit. If a sharper effect of the bit is desired, a side piece with leverage effect, such as a pelham, can be used. It can also have a mild corrective effect if the horse hangs on the bit, then the rider can raise his hand so that the edge of the bit is against the tongue and thus tell the horse to stop hanging, of course this is followed by a concession and normal hand position.

Pelham is a classic bit that is very popular with hot and strong horses. It provides pressure on the neck and lower jaw, how much depends on the length of the shanks (5 or 7 cm). Can be used with a delta or with double reins and with or without a chain, which gives many options to change the impact and sharpness of the bit.

This mouthpiece is not suitable for horses that bite the bit. The bit is therefore not covered by warranty or right of complaint if damage has occurred due to the horse biting the bit.
