Bombers Pelham 55 Snaffle Lock Up
Bombers Pelham 55 Snaffle Lock Up
The Bombers Pelham has rings for attaching two pairs of reins, one pair at the mouthpiece and one pair at the bottom of the shank. This gives an effect similar to that of riding on a bit. Some riders, who find it difficult to handle two pairs of reins, use a delta that is inserted into both bit rings, one rein is then attached to the delta. The Pelham 55 has the shortest shank in the Bombers range (55 mm), it gives less leverage and pressure on the neck than a bit with a longer shank. Supplied with cheek chain and hooks. The Lock Up mouthpiece prevents the nutcracker effect of normal split bits, which means that the pressure on the reins is reduced. The Lock Up is therefore gentler than a normal split bit, but it still gives pressure on the tongue and reins when the reins are shortened.
