Biofarmab BioLuron

Biofarmab BioLuron is a liquid feed supplement with high molecular weight hyaluronic acid for older and hard-training horses. With increased strain or as age sets in, the amount of HA can decrease and the synovial fluid then thins out, resulting in the synovial fluid losing its protective and shock-absorbing function.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) occurs naturally in high concentrations in, among other things, articular cartilage and synovial fluid in animals and humans, where it has an important lubricating and shock-absorbing effect. With increased strain, such as hard training or in older horses, the amount of HA can decrease and the synovial fluid then thins out. As the viscosity decreases, the synovial fluid loses its protective and shock-absorbing function. The viscosity increases again at rest, but if the recovery time is too short, the joint is loaded during the next training session and the training can then cause damage. HA is added to restore the thick, protective consistency of the synovial fluid and the joint is protected. There are specific receptors in the intestine that transport hyaluronic acid to the blood and on to the joints. The size of the hyaluronic acid molecule controls the effect in the joint, the larger the molecule, the better.

The hyaluronic acid molecule in Eclipse Biofarmab's BioLuron is of very high quality and has a size of 1,300,000Da, which is a very large molecule. Daily supplementation of hyaluronic acid (with high molecular weight) in the feed of competition horses has been shown to have positive effects in maintaining normal joint function.

Dosage:
The first 10 days:
Horse: 20ml morning and evening.
Pony: 10ml morning and evening.
Then 20ml/day for horses and 10ml/day for ponies. Mix well in the concentrate and shake before use.
