When horses are working hard or in hot weather, their body temperature is regulated through sweating. Sweating not only means they lose fluids but also important body salts, especially sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium. Failure to replace these body salts (also known as electrolytes) can result in fatigue. Electro Lytes is in liquid form and is used to replace the four most important body salts that can be lost through exercise, sweating or due to hot weather. It is easy to use, just add to the daily feed ration or to the horse's water. For horses working very hard or in extremely hot weather, it is recommended to feed the more concentrated Electro Salter (powder).

It is important to remember that the horse has a large amount of water available when any form of electrolytes is given.
