Sprenger Babypelham is a pelham bit with short shanks. The Sprenger pelham gives more control over a strong or powerful horse. The leverage on the bit can be varied by how the rein is attached to the bit, most often it is used with a delta or with two reins.

The cheek chain should be tightened so that the bar is at a 45 degree angle to the corner of the mouth to avoid too much leverage. Provides precise and effective reining assistance because the bit's action is on the larynx, tongue & lower jaw simultaneously.
